Hello Everyone,

Just became a member :[anb]: today and hoping that posting my first thread will go well *crossing fingers* I just finished my last pre-req and am beginning the application process this week for ADN programs around the LA area. I'll be applying to PCC (Pasadena), GCC (Glendale), LAC+USC School of Nursing (for Spring 2012) and Rio Hondo (Whittier), and Citrus College in Glendora (which is the college I currently attend, for Fall 2012). I'd love to stay here for Citrus's nursing program bc Ive been here for 3 years already and LOVED their science program...DRWBACKS? Well besides the LONGER wait until Fall 2012, I realize their nursing program is fairly new in consideration with many others nearby and I havent heard a ton of feedback on it via our nursing counselors and what not...All I truly hear is that its pretty good, hard (what's new, right?!) and that there are only 24 seats available...So why am I here??! Well I'm here to ask a favor from all of you pre-nursing students in my same boat:aln:, those who have already been accepted into one of these programs:w00t:, and those who have already walked the green mile, buried their last semester in nursing school and officially graduated :grad::nmbrn:To give ANY feedback/info about your experiences with any of THESE programs. ie, acceptance (how tough or how easy?), curriculum and class schedule (difficulty, week or weekends?), professors?, how are clinical rotation hours and what locations?, how is the commute every morning?, attrition rate, costs vs financial aid, if any given?, and finally, to ALL you parents out there, is it TRULY DO-ABLE?!!! (since I myself will have a Kindergartner come this August and am worried about how I'll manage my school around my son's) ANY and ALL advice/help/knowledge would be GREATLY and DEEPLY APPRECIATED!!!:tku: Guys!!!

I'm going to Rio Hondo too. Congrats

Congratulations @NurseDalee and @RonnieDita!!!!!! That's great, I'm so happy for you both! How is the pre-adn class for Rio going for you guys? I got accepted into LA County, Rio Hondo, Glendale for Spring 2012. I decided to take a semester off because my brother got ill and was able to hold on to County and Rio's seat until Fall 2012. I started the admission process and did orientation for both of those programs, awaiting to hear back from Citrus and PCC. I got accepted into both of those as well for Fall 2012. It was a super tough decision- but due to proximity to my home and my son's school and the fact that I am already familiar with Citrus College , I chose to stay with Citrus's ADN program beginning this upcoming Fall. Many people whom I began this journey with here at CC have also been accepted and that makes it very comforting since we have all already built relationships. Although my heart remains divided between County and Pasadena bc they remain in my top 3 choices of best overall programs, I know I made the right decision for my entire family. I wish you both the best of luck at Rio, I know you will both do amazing! I'd love to hear how things are going and how things continue, so please keep me posted :)
