Bergen Community Nursing Program

I have almost all my pre-req complete. I'm only taking A&P II this fall semester. I applied for the evening nursing program at BCC which starts in the spring of 2011. I asked the advisor if it is okay that I am taking A&P II this fall and she said yes. I just wanted to make sure. Also, how is the evening nursing program? Does it take 2 years? I took a lot of classes at another college because I transferred into BCC which includes science courses. Will it still take 2 years to get my RN?

What are some things I should prepare myself? I heard I have to take a test called Hesi. Where can I get more information on this? thank you

Yes...BCC is a 2yr program after all pre-requisites are completed and if all goes well with you passing your classes. I say this because If anyone happens to fail, they will have to wait 1yr to retake the class. Fail again, and you may be out the program for good. my first semester there were two sections each having 40 students. There was about 8-10 people that did not make it in my section. In Level 2, same deal. Please understand I am not trying to scare you, just keeping it real. The same were explained to me before I started.

Yes, you will have to take an entrance exam called the Hesi. When I applied, the Accuplacer was the exam to take. Which I understand covers less material than the HESI.

I was still taking Chemistry when I applied, so you should be cool with the A&P class.

Concentrate heavy on the HESI and pass A&P II for now is my suggestion.

Good Luck...

and oh...Prof Ali was my A&P Prof. He was great !
