Being Accepted Worrying

Published

Hi Everyone,

I am a hopefull nursing student probably finishing all my prerequisites next year, but I was wondering, what do I to increase my chances of getting accepted to nursing School. TAMUCC is my first and only option seeing as a I can't commute du to my mother being ill. I want to do the online program. There is a small community college in my town, but they want you to be an LVN first, get experience and maybe they will accept you as an RN, and they accept complete idiots into their RN program, so I want a higher quality education. I mean no disrespect to LVNs, but I want to do the BSN route, and eventually get my masters. MY GPA is a 4.0, but I've had no previous medical exprience or background, what can I do to increase my chances of being accepted to TAMUCC. I am also in my local Honor's society, as well as the STEM CLUB.

Hi, my advice would be maintaining try to maintain your gpa as high as you can in order to be competitive. The advisor told me that anything over a 3.40 is considered competitive but obviously you want to have it higher, as far as the gpa they look at your last 60 hours total, accomplishments, withdrawals, etc. You also need to take the hesi exam and anything over an 84 is considered competitive, try to get the hesi out of the way as early as possible so you won't have to worry about it in the end. I am currently waiting on a decision letter, from TAMUCC. This coming week I should know if I made it into the program or not.

Thank You so much for you input, has anyone else been accepted into the e-line program? if so, how did everyone else go about it.......As well, do they frown upon community colleges?
