BCTC Pharm Exam

I'm a 2nd year at BCTC and I keep hearing rumors about this major pharmacology exam in the last semester of school. Are there any recent grads around who can offer some insight? They gave us a long list of drugs, but I was just wondering what all they expect us to know? Dosages? Side effects? Interactions? etc. Also, are there certain drugs to pay more attention to?

Thanks!

the pharm exam is not that bad, you really need to find notes on all the drugs. They are floating around school... believe me start asking everyone about the notes. They are not notes that were given to you by the professors but a consolidated lists including side effects, actions, etc... From what I remember there were no dosage questions but there may have been some calculation questions. I only studied this packet of notes...actually rewrote it 3 or 4 times and I was fine. Also I would know everything about dig and its relationship with K.

thanks, that's good to hear. One of the professors told me there shouldn't be any dosage questions, but that in her opinion, it was a test that should be given to a nurse who'd been in practice for a few years, not a student! She said a lot of people do bad on it, but it wasn't worth as much as the other exams so not to worry. But, if it's mainly SE and actions, it doesn't sound that bad.

thanks for the info!
