BCEN Test Time!

I'm sure this question is somewhere in the over 3,000 posts. I just don't have time to look for it and am not sure how to access this particular question.

I took the BCEN in 2001....passed it (barely) by 7 points.

I was wondering what good review books are out there for me to study by?

Countdown until test day is 2 months.

Last time I had two review books and just read one or the other every day and did the practice tests in the back. I know there are some not-so-good review books and some that are dead on and easy to read and comprehend. I also noticed for a $75 fee, ENA will send a 150 question practice test....is it worth it???

Thanks to all who takes the time to read this and pass on any information!

I did the 150-question practice test, and felt that it was great in demonstrating the level/flavor of the actual test questions. As far as CEN prep, I used Sheehy's Emergency Nursing Principles and Practice, as well as Lippincott's Q&A Certification Review: Emergency Nursing. I also listened to the Med-Ed audio lectures that I borrowed from a friend -- I

Thanks Lisa!

I started listening to some of Jeff Solheims CEN review this summer, I will definetly go back in the archives and get them again.

The other two books I will check out on ENA's marketplace.

Thanks again,

Teri

someone please help relieve my fears-i took the pn test yesterday and after it delivered i tried to reregister and it gives me a pop up that says i have results on hold and that i cannot rereister at this time. this is my fourth time taking the test and before i always got to the cc screen right off the bat this time i havent. but the msg does not say anything about contacting the bon can you give me a hint about this message

to the OP: yes, I felt that the ENA practice exam was very helpful. I did both the first one and the set that gives you five exams. Well worth the money, and I passed with a good score. I used the ENA Core Curriculum book and Sheehy's emergency manual (not the proceedures one). I had the Lippincott Q&A, but it seemed way off target compared to the practice exams, and in retrospect, to the test itself...plus I found errors, based on Lippincott's own rationales. Some people swear by it, though.

to bepobsbabygirl: Not sure what test you are referring to...what is the PN? Are you talking about a licensure exam or a certification exam? BONs only deal with the licensure exams.
