Basic Nursing School Preresuisites Help

Hello everyone. Can anyone tell me what the basic nursing school prerequisites are for Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD? Thanks!!

  • ENGL COMP I & II = 6 credits;
  • Intro to Sociology = 3 credits;
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II = 8 credits;
  • Intro to Philosophy or Logic = 3 credits;
  • Speech Communication or Principles of Interviewing or Critical Listening = 3 credits;
  • History (World or U.S. or African-American) = 3 credits;
  • College Algebra = 3 credits
    Unless you transfer in Gen. Chemistry or Chemistry for Health Sciences = 4 credits, then the College Algebra is waived.

**Students who have not had biology or chemistry in high school and within five (5) years prior to admission are required to successfully pass BIOL 107, Comprehensive Review of Life Science. This course must be taken prior to enrolling in any science course required for the Nursing Program. Registered Nurses are exempted from this requirement.
