Banner Gateway

This is kind of a rant but also a question. I am trying really hard to get a job at Banner Gateway. Not only is it a new facility, but it's less than a mile from my house. I just recently graduated with my RN degree and am awaiting my licensure date and I have been an LPN for 5 years. I can't even get someone to call me back! I have applied for countless positions and always get the generic reply that they are looking at other applicants. Does anyone have other suggestions that I can do to get my foot in the door? Does anyone on here currently work there? If so, can you let me know how you like working there. I have thought so much about getting a job there that I only know what I have read online and from their website. I may one day get a job there and find out I don't like it.

I have a good friend that works there in the ER and she told me that people are not coming into the hospitals for elective surgeries because of the economy so the reason that banner gateway or any banner hospitals at this point are really not hiring (although on their website they are???!), she told me that they are doing away with the traveler nurses as well and keeping the pool nurses and inhouse nurses busy. I too have been trying to get in there as I live very close too, I really believe it's all about networking and who you know. I would try another Banner Hospital to at least get your foot in the door and then you can always transfer when there is an opening...keep us posted and good luck!

I work here as a CNA, it took me about 2 months of volunteering to get my foot in the door. I was getting the same response you have been getting. Go to the front desk and get an application to volunteer. Speak to the lady in charge of the volunteering. P.S. great place to work. ;)

I am currently volunteering here with the hopes of someday getting a job. I have not been there long but I really like it. Do they allow volunteers to access the job database the same way they do the employees?

If you dont mind me asking, how did you get your position once you established yourself as a volunteer? Did you go directly to HR?

Specializes in labor & delivery.

I am in the Banner Fellow's program. Another student's spouse works at a Banner facility as a supervisor and was told that the only new grads that Banner is allowed to hire right now are the Banner Fellows. Not guaranteeing the info-just passing along what I heard. Good luck to you.

2ndxstudent i just let some people know that i was a cna and work hard while volunteering and they called me in for an interview.

Specializes in ortho, rehab, Long term care.

if your a cna at banner, i was wondering if you can tell me, how the cna test is like they give you for interveiw day, kindof got me when the recruiter said cna test for my cna interveiw

I didn't have a test, they just interviewed me

I have several friends that have gotten positions at banner and were not part of the fellow program.

I know this post is kind of old, did you ever get on at Banner Gateway? I like you have been trying since 2006 to get a position at ANY of the Banner Facilities. I too, have gotten generic replies stating someone with more experience has been chosen. Or now, you can look on line to see "no longer under consideration." It's like what the heck, they haven't even interviewed me, how can they know what experiences I have? I have a good friend that is a supervisor at one of the facilities and that still didn't help me get in.

Anyway, just keep trying. Good luck to you!
