Need some support...signed up for EC thru the College network 9 mos. ago, and have only completed one class (and passed the test)!!! I have been so crazy busy, husband lost his job, I started working FT from per diem, kids, etc, etc!!! Anyway, things have finally slowed down so I can pick up a book again to study, almost a year later!!! Anyone else suffer some serious set backs like me? I need to get my orifice in gear!!!:uhoh3:

Unfortunately I did the same thing as you. I signed on with TCN in 5-06 and enrolled in Excelsior 9-06. It took me until 1-07 to take my first exam NC1 (5 months to take one exam????whats up with that??). I did pass thankfully but my motivation had not been very strong (fear of the unknown perhaps). I have since taken 2 other exams and passed those but I get bummed out with myself. I KNOW that I can do better since I know of other Excelsior students who enrolled around the same time as I did and they are almost ready to take the CPNE. So I recently made a "contract" with myself and gave myself a deadline of 1 EC exam a month until I am done. This is dooable!! My motivation is my husband. He needs to get out of cross country driving to be home more, if I was an RN we could afford for him to take a paycut to drive locally. HUGE incentive since I am tired of him being gone and me sleeping alone. Find your motivation, get some supportive people behind you and I know you can do it!!! Excelsior is a great opportunity to go far in your nursing practice but we Have to do the work first. Good luck to you!!

You are awesome. It is all about motivation. Thanks. BTW... I am 6 mos in to Composition, ridiculous! I am going to try for one test a month today on. Keep in touch and let me know how you are advancing with your RN. Do you work FT as an LPN? I just started the Baylor program last summer and am in full swing, week days off, double shifts on weekends. Good Luck with your studies!;)
