I am sorry but I do not know what back flushing IV tubing is.
What is it?
Why do you do it?
Thank you

I back flush my piggybacks instead of priming them with whatever is the piggyback. For me to back flush with our tubing and pumps, I plug my piggyback into the port before the pump with my piggyback tubing clamped. I hold my piggyback below my maintenance fluids, then unclamp them. When they are unclamped, fluids from the maintenance fluids will go into the piggyback tubing priming that line. I do it this way so that I do not lose any of those precious antibiotics, or whatever the piggyback is, by priming the traditional way. I hope this is a halfway clear explanation for you.
WSU-thank you, now I understand.

Hi
Here is our hospital in Oz, the secondary lines we use do not have clamps. The just connect above our pump to the primary line.I have just returned to the hospital after time out and these are different. What's the best way to hang a secondary line (eg antibiotic)? We use Baxter pumps. Can anyone give me a step by step sure-fire simple way? We don't actually talk about backflushing here, so I am not familiar with that term...
Thanks
