Attn: Please Help!!!!!!!

Hi, I am a Senior in High School and I have made up my mind that I want to become a nurse. I just have a few questions in helping me make final decisions. I believe the correct term for the type of nurse that I would like to become is a "Neonatal Nurse".

What is the EXACT role of a neonatal nurse? and what is the difference betweena a neonatal nurse and an neo-nurse practicioner, obsteric nurse, or a labor-delivery nurse, etc?

THANKS SO MUCH!

This is a post that may answer a lot of your questions. Registered Nurses are educated @ either in a 2 year Associate Degree or a 4 year Bachelors Degree. After they graduate and are licensed, they can specialize in any area they wish. Further specialty instruction is usually part of the orientation provided by the hospital.

Neonatal Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice nurses w/considerable experience, and usually a Master's Degree.

Good Luck to you.
