i just wanted to share with you a find that really helped with my acls renewal and as an added bonus pointed to areas that a telemetry nurse aught to know! i've been looking for a good telemetry nurse book and i think i got pretty close to finding it.
so if you're browsing your local bookstore, be sure to check out the made easy acls review book.
bonuses:
recognizing cardiac arrythmias ( what the ecg tells you, what causes it, what to look for, how it's treated)
iv access and invasive techniques
cardiovascular pharmacology
pacemaker descriptions
evaluating pacemaker function
when pvcs spell danger
up to date, published in 2007
of course it includes and explains all topics in the aha's acls book.
1 negative:
expensive: be prepared to spend close to 50 dollars for this book ;(
[/evil] happy halloween!

Thank You. I'm a new grad and I'll be starting my first RN job in telemetry in a couple weeks. I will look for this book next time I'm at Barnes & Noble...

TeleRNer, are you talking about the ACLS Review made Incredibly Easy by Lippincott?
I love it,but I only paid $37.95. I also got the ACLS Study Guide by Barbara Aehlert and Cardiovascular Care made Incredibly Easy as well.
I'm a book ho

Yes, TrueRN...the very same book! Perhaps my end price was closer to $45...I was just shocked at the cost of this paperback. Or perhaps I was considering the cost of the Latte needed to sooth one from having spent the grocery money. However, knowing how much one can spend on school text books, why should I have been so surprised?!
Cardiovascular care made incredibly easy sounds like a winner, thanks!
