ARDS vs ARF???

Adult Resp. Distess Syndrome vs Acute Respiratory Failure

Can someone tell me how to tell the difference between the two. The only thing I think is something to do with the PaCo2 level? Please help.

Have you looked up both of these terms on a websearch? I would recommend doing that.

Just to give you a hint, you can have ARDS with ARF but you can certainly have ARF without ARDS.
