Aquinas College

Has anyone here been to Aquinas in Nashville? I'm considering going there. I just want to make sure that I'm making the right college choice.

I'm finishing up my first semester there now. I have nothing but good things to say about it. The faculty is very helpful and always willing to clarify if you are unsure of something. They have a great relationship with all the clinical sites and Aquinas nursing students are respected within those sites because of that. Great experience thus far...highly recommended!

I have been thinking about applying there in about a year. Recently, they emailed me about a webinar to join. It looks really interesting. They also have St. Thomas Hospital nearby so they are close with them. They aren't associated with them in the education, but they probably hold many opportunities with the nearby hospital. I also know they offer a nursing teach degree, which many colleges don't have. It is a very small Catholic college run by the Dominican sisters, but it seems like they really care about their students. On the webinar they also mentioned that once students obtain their Associates Degree they can go to night classes for 18 months to get their BSN. Hopefully one day we can meet each other on campus! ;)

I wouldn't recommend it. I've been through the program and honestly, for the cash you are better off just getting your BSN through another university. Check out their NCLEX passage rates through the TN-BON site, it is the WORST in the ENTIRE STATE. They make you think their program is prestigous (and it has a good reputation, I've noticed) but they're the bottom of the barrel in reality. I made great grades throughout the program (a 3.8 GPA) but the cost, combined with extreme inconsistency and run-around, makes me wish I'd just gone elsewhere. If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
