APRN degree question

Published

I am interested in pursuing a nurse practitioner degree. I have been an ER nurse for 6 years in Louisville Ky. any suggestions on the matter? Obviously I want to get it as quickly as possible. Online or an online/campus combo is preferable. Would I need to do a rn-bsn program first, or is it possible to do a rn-msn program? interested in family nurse practitioner or something similiar. thanks for the help

you will need a BSN in most cases. Vanderbilts online programs are respected. look into that. You can do your RN-BSN in two semesters, and your FNP masters in 3 semesters. They have part time as well. You could look around and find a cheaper rn-bsn program i bet. Vandy also has an ER NP program. it is five semesters and gives you dual Family and Acute care NP certs.
