Hello Fam
I am an IEN currently living and working in Ontario as an RPN. Recently I got my RN assessment from CNO that I have some competency gaps that requires me to complete some additional education. Right now I am so confused if I should apply for an online nursing program in the USA. I am looking at Liberty University or Excelsior college but getting licenced in Canada will be another hurdle.
I have applied for the BIEN bridging program at Fanshawe college but called CNO to find out if after the program I will be eligible to get licensed with the college, I was told that only the list of the approved schools on their website . Please is anyone in my shoes or once here. Kindly advise.
It is tough for me right now.

Hello. I hear you. So my colleagues who were IEN RN had similar situation. They had competency gaps and what not. What they did was completing the whole RPN-RN bridging program. For instance, Centennial-Ryerson. Some only required clinical hours. One colleague needed to complete only 1 year Bridging Certificate at Centennial. So case to case basis.
Please inquire as well: even CNO granting you the RN but they only would give the “diploma” and not “BScN” designation. One colleague passed his OSCE but wanted to complete his Bridging at York University to graduate with “BScN”. This is if you have plans in the future for higher education.
