Hi everyone. I am an American Citizen that graduated from a foreign university. I submitted my application for licensure by examination in the State of California and after months of going through the process they told me that I will have to take additional coursework in an accredited nursing school since my clinical and theory from my University weren't "concurrent". This is really very frustrating.
I do not want to spend my time and money studying again so I decided that it will be best to just apply in a different state and I have decided to prepare my files and apply in the State of New York. I have a couple of questions:
1. Will I encounter any problems by submitting an application in New York since I already applied in the State of California?
2. Do you think it might cause me complications if the New York board of nursing sees that my application form for their State was notarized here in California? I want to avoid any and all complications so I'm thinking if it will be necessary for me to fly over to New York to have my documents notarized there in order to avoid problems.
I really would appreciate any and all input from you! Thanks in advance and I hope I can get some clarification on things.

You shouldn''t have problems with forms notarized in another state. CVS is required for NY if you trained outside the US and takes approx 6-8 months to be processed and all information can be found on the CGFNS website. Are you planning on working in NY? Obtaining a license in another states doesn't mean CA will accept you if you apply for endorsement
Thank you for your answer. Yes, I already started my application for the CVS for New York with the CGFNS. Yes I plan on working in New York or elsewhere. I don't have any plans of working in CA anymore after seeing how they treat us applicants and given that I still won't be eligible due to my "insufficient" educational requirements.
