Applying to nursing school help!!!!

Hello,

I am currently attending Cal state Fullerton and I am thinking about becoming a nurse. I know that nursing schools are very competitive so I want to increase my chances of getting in by applying to nursing schools all over California. Do you have to be accepted into the school fist before you can apply to the nursing program? Do you apply to both at the same time? If any one knows how this works please let me know!! Thank you

Karlee

It really depends on the college. I'm applying to several schools in my state (Washington), and a few have you apply to the school AND program because if you're admitted into the program, you get into the school. Most of them have you apply to the school first, then the nursing program. Least from my experience.

The state schools here in CA require you to be accepted to the university AND the nursing program. However, you don't have to be accepted before you can submit your nursing program. But if you're rejected from the school, you're automatically rejected from the nursing program. Also, most schools give priority to nursing majors who already attend their university. Since you go to CSU Fullerton, you'd have priority there over transfers.

Goodluck! :)
