Applying for multiple positions

I have a question regarding applying to more than one position at a hospital. Can you apply to 2 (or more) positions with the same job title at the same time? The differences between them are the floors and hours per week. Or would this not be a good idea and make me look bad to the employer?

yes you can apply for the same position on a different floor.

I know I can apply to both, however, will this decrease my chances in getting the job? Will the employer think I am desperate?

I know there were some people that said don't apply to all open positions but honestly I did. It took me 32 applications to one system to get an interview. I've gotten three interviews this week. All with different managers in different units. So I'm hoping for an offer shortly. Two of the managers seemed really interested.

Total resumes submitted numbers around 90 for several systems combined. A real human doesn't even always see every application you submit in all places.

By all means, apply for everything you are interested in and qualified for! You won't look bad; you'll just look like you're willing to go to work. Most employers of any size now use an online application and applicant tracking system, so each opening will have its own unique applicant pool. The people reviewing the applicant pool for Position A may not even see the applicant pool for Position B, and even if they did they would not hold it against you. Just be sure that you meet or exceed the minimum qualifications for each position and let 'er rip!
