Applied to UCO's Fall 2015 Traditional program today....

Published

Hello my fellow pre-nursing friends!! I submitted my application today for fall 2015 entry into UCO's traditional nursing program. I plan to apply to OCCC and OSU-OKC as well, but have a little time before their applications are due. I am hoping to meet other nursing students, and possible classmates in OKC area so we can all encourage each other and share info about the process! Good luck and hope to hear from you all soon!!

Hi! I'm applying to UCO, OSU OKC, and OCCC too! I'm also going to apply at Rose State. I'm going to take the TEAS Wednesday and turn in my UCO application following the test. I was put on the waiting last semester with a 73% so I'm hoping to make an 80%. I'm a little nervous because I've been trying to get into nursing school for about a year now. : /.

Hope to hear back from you!

Hi nicolM, I took the teas last Tuesday at uco and got an 81.3 and I think they round up so I have an 82 by application standards. That was a 10 point increase from the first time I took the teas. My GPA is 3.78 and my science GPA is 4.0. It sounds crazy but I almost hope to get into the program at OCCC versus the UCO program. I have heard great things about OCCC nurses and not so hot about UCO. This is my first time to apply though, and honestly I will be happy to get in at any school. I think a lot more of becoming a good nurse depends on the student and not the school. Anyway I hope it all works out for you. Maybe we will be classmates soon !!

Yeah I've heard the same thing as well! And wow you have a great gpa. My gpa isn't so great due to slacking off my first year and a half away. And yes I completely agree with you, I'm to the point where I'll start at any school, as long as its a good program though. But yes maybe we will be classmates soon!

Just a small update, I took the TEAS today, and made a 77.3%. I do have question. UCO application states they give preference to UCO Students. I took this semester off but took all my classes at UCO, would I not get the preference since I didn't enroll this semester?

Hello! I have also applied to UCO's Fall 2015 traditional program. It's the only school I applied to since I am seeking my Bachelor's. I scored an 83.4 on the TEAS, hold a 3.9 GPA, my science GPA is a 3.0 because I only have taken 2 science courses (taking 2 right now, final one in summer), I also already have a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Comm. I am super nervous about getting into the program, I hope that I do! I wish the both of you luck as well, keep us posted along the way.

I turned in my application for UCO's program a couple of weeks ago! I have been looking forward to applying for a while now so I was so excited to finally turn in the application! I applied with an 88 on the TEAS, a 4.0 science GPA and a 3.9 overall GPA. I cannot wait until the end of March to hear whether I was accepted or not and to hear who else got in. Fingers crossed!

rw90, I am also finishing up two science classes this semester, Microbiology and Anatomy and then my final science class, Physiology, in the summer. Three weeks into the semester and I am already overwhelmed but excited for what's to come.

I know for a fact that you two will get in!! Best of luck to y'all two!

I hope so @NicolM. I wish my Science GPA was higher! @jojo516 I am also in Micro and Anatomy but at OSU-OKC. It is SUPER overwhelming! I am planning to take Physiology over the summer (: I'm actually looking forward to having that class by itself considering how time consuming these are! I am also taking Intro to Nursing at UCO, have you taken that yet?

Thanks NicolM! Hopefully your TEAS score will help make up for your GPA that you're worried about. rw90 I'm taking Intro to Nursing this semester. It's the block class and man is it fast paced!

@jojo516 Oh wow, I bet! Do you know if we will find out before spring break or after if we get accepted?

Last semester they found out about 8 or 9 weeks after the application due date so probably a week or two after spring break. The Intro to Nursing professor said around spring break, too.
