New to me, when given IV, is it just a push and is it diluted or given straight, and over how long?
I have to get a new IV drug book!
My old one is 10 years old! LOL
TIA

I have given it straight IV push, usually over 10-15 sec.
Patients who have or could develop prolongation of the cardiac cycle, should not be given Anzemet as it can precipitate Toursades de Point. Those patients are those who have documented Long QT Syndrome, hypokalemia or hypomagnesia, those on antiarrythmic drugs or other drugs that lead to prolongation of the QT segment.
Very informative, thank you.
