anyone at tech for OB?

i have a job interview on tuesday for an on-call NCT position in OB..just wondering if anyone on here works for OB? if so, how do you like it? what are some of the required tasks? just wondering if it differed at all from a typical cna position and any tips on getting the position, thanks ;)

Im a tech in the post-partum unit.. Pretty much what we have to do is take vital signs, document intake and output every 4hrs.do peri-care on new c-section moms, and help them ambulate. I have to say its alot less than what you would do on the medecine floors but most of the time it will be one tech with 20 something patients.( that is the only thing Im not happy with)

yea this floor I applied for is very similar to what you are referring to. I was told during my interview that I would have about 17 patients and that a lot of it would be keeping the mother comfortable, vitals, ambulating, etc. The job position opens in January so I really hope I get it just for the experience!

I'm a tech on an OB floor and absolutely love it. We ambulate, do vitals, help with circumcisions, weigh babies, bathe babies, peri care on both section and vag patients. It's a very fulfilling, happy job (for the most part). :) Good luck.
