Anyone take the train to work?

I have been thinking about applying for jobs in and around Chicago (more opportunities for a new grad), but the thought of driving there and back from the 'burbs makes me hesitate. I have a park and ride that will get me to the train just 5 minutes from my house, but I'm not sure where to go after that. Can you tell me where you work that is easy to get to from the train?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry about that..........Metra.

thanks

it really depends which metra you take. If you come into the loop on the metra, you can transfer to a bus/EL and then get to anywhere - the question is how LONG it will take you to get there. So if you are far out in the burbs and it takes 1 hour to get into the loop, then a bus to northwestern, it may take you 1.5 hours to get to work. Or if you are on metra and you are on the line that will go to hinsdale lets say (burlington northern) you could get off at hinsdale and walk to their hospital (now hinsdale is in the burbs). So it really depends. Again, UIC, Rush, etc. all of those are off of 290 - but not really off of a metra line - so into the loop and then a bus or the pink line will get you there - not sure how long that would take.... and the metra schedule may not be that great - it does not run 24/7 and sundays are very limited times for trains......

good luck!!
