Anyone got the last question wrong but still passed?

Hi! Am just so anxious in getting my results... I think I got the last question wrong *sigh*... Is that a bad sign? And it was an easy question! Got so many SATA (almost 11 I think!) got 2 med calcs, lots of priority delegation and infection control stuff, and my computer shut off at 97. My BON is in Cali so I still don't have the results yet....

Waiting game is on...anyway we can't do anything about it right? So im just hanging on and doing something else for the meantime...

But sometimes I'm having NCLEX PTSD *LOL*... Having these NCLEX flashbacks...so anyone have an idea regarding my query? Thanks!

Getting the last question wrong does not mean a fail as a few have already posted. You will get x amount of test questions in your test and who knows the last question may just be that. Hang in there and good luck

I do not understand why people think if they get the last question wrong, they fail the test. Can someone explain this to me because I don't get it.

I got the last Q wrong as well. I passed with 75.

To Luv'nlife-people think if they get the last question wrong that it means they fail because the test stops when it has determined if you pass of fail.

So if they get the last Q wrong, and the test stops, then they assume that they failed. But it's not true at all.

Out of the 75 questions on my exam, my last 5 questions were med questions all in a row. I only heard of one or two of them, but couldn't answer any of them with confidence. If I had to guess I would say I got them all wrong. But I found out the next day that I passed!! So I really would't worry too much about getting the last question wrong. Good luck! I'm sure you did great!

CardiacRN - thanks....I could see if the test stopped on a question why you would think you got it wrong. I just kept reading messages & it seemed weird to me that people would think that they failed because they got the last question wrong. It just didn't make sense, but if it stopped I can see why.

When the test reaches 75 questions (NCLEX-RN), it makes a determination of pass or fail. If the tester is too close to figure out the test continues until a determination can be made.

In my case, the test continued after #75 so that must have meant that it couldn't determine at that point if I passed or failed. Imagine my horror when the test shut down after #76. I don't think I got that last question correct. I thought for sure the last question tipped the results to a failure. Fortunately I was wrong. :D

Whew! that was a relief reading your posts! Feel glimmer of hope coming on..I hope i'll get the same good news as you guys! Still no results yet...agony agony...hehehe

Thanks for the replies on the last question. I am in the 265 question group...twice. So that's why I couldn't figure out how you guys thought the last question determined whether or not you passed. Got it now....thanks. Guess that would add to the stress level!!

I got last question wrong and passed at 75.
