I have applied to Jefferson State Community College-LPN Program. I have been told that it is very hard to get into this program and that I should apply to other schools too. Does anyone have any suggestions as into other schools I should also apply to? Thanks

Hmmm...they havent had the LPN program very long. I can tell you I know several people who could not get into the RN program but was able to get into the LPN program. I would apply to both programs. The summer is the easiest time to get in( RN). I know the points went as low as 145 for this past summer.

Best of Luck !!!

The maximum points for the LPN program is 180, and is 200 for the RN...... Are you sayin that the cut off for Summer 2007 was 145? If that's the case I should have gotten in... I was told cut off for this Summer was 174

Im sorry..you are right..I had a brain fog moment last night. My friend was the last one that got in.

I know you can email X and he will email you the points from each semester if anyone would like to know.

Edit: You are talking about the LPN right.... I had to make that edit... B/c I was fired up:angryfire... OK but I'm kool now.. Or unless you were talking about the RN

My friend got into the summer RN program and she had 174. Im sorry for all the confusion and wrong points I wrote last night. They did take more than the usually 50 for each campus too. I think they took 4-5 more people so around 54-55 for each campus.

Oh That's fine.... I figured it was a typo or something... But Jeff State would have had some explaining to do if that was the case.... I'm still waiting to hear from them.... Letters were suppose to come around the 20th, so hopefully I hear something next week.

When I was in the Shelby office on Thursday "Y" (the advisor) had a big sign posted on her door about being out of the office going over Nursing applications. Do we think they are still deliberating?

I doubt it.... Last semester, I had received my letter, and it was the same thing on her Voicemail... So I wouldn't be surprised if she just forgot to take it down

I called today and one advisor( Jefferson) voicemail said the same thing about reviewing apps the other one I called(Shelby) answered the phone and she told me that they would be going out in a couple of weeks. I then told her that I would be going out of town all next week and I was concerend because I know there is a short time to respond to the letter and then she told me I would be fine and not to worry. So what does that mean ? If letters go out next week and Im not here to respond and I lose my spot .... Ill be so upset. I think I may email the other advisor to see if I get the same response

OK, they are taking too long with these applications... It don't take THAT long to get everything down... Or maybe I'm just anxious... If you are out of town next week, and that's when they send them.... I think they give you like a week or two to respond, so I thinks that what she meant by you will be fine..

Do you know how long the time is to respond. I suspect that they are letting a lot of recent high school graduates in this time and am wondering if I would be better waiting until Spring to start...do you know what happens if you get in and decide to delay until the following semester? Just curious. I am getting quite impatient and have other "irons in the fire" that I am needing to make decisions on.
