hello from scotland :balloons: ,

i have just joined the forum and would like to take the opportunity to say hi to all users. my main reson for joining was to obtain as much information on moving from uk to usa to work as a psychiatric nurse. i have 11 years psychiatric experience all done in uk. i have spent a lot of hours searching the net for information unsuccessfully. i would appreciate any help that can enlighten me on the best journey to take[.e.g do i need to do my rgn training prior to applying?] thanks in advance.

warmest regards

hi and welcome to the group :welcome:

unfortunately due to your training you do not qualify to work in the us as training required is general. you may get round this by just making hours up in the areas required but this has to be with a recognised school of nursing or university. again unfortunately in the uk there are no universities offering courses like this so you may have to look abroad to do this. there is a sticky at the top of this forum titled primer to work in the us which gives lots of good info.

good luck
