ANCC study prep help

Hi all,

In December, I completed my Master's in FNP and now I am hoping to take the ANCC exam. In January, I took a review course offered by Fitzgerald Health Education Associates in New York. Unfortunately, due to some personal circumstances, I was not able to start studying after the review course. Now that I am back on track, I would like to jump right back in. I was hoping to get some input from people in my situation or anyone who has taken the exam. How long did you prepare for the exam? Did you take the ANP or the ANCC? What study materials did you utilize?

Thanks in advance.

Hello!

Congratulations on graduation! I too, graduated in December 2017 and I took and passed both the ANCC and AANP. I used Barkley's review course ( home study ) and the 2018 Leik app on the iPhone. Overall, I felt the Leik app was the best investment, it is the book and 600+ questions. I also HIGHLY suggest taking the AANP practice test by PSI when you are about ready to test.. it was very similar to the AANP test (if you choose to take that one).

Goodluck!

Thank you so much. And congratulations to you as well. Thats pretty amazing that you took both and passed. I almost wish I had used Liek. So many people mentioned that it is very similar to the questions on the ancc. I have been using the Fitzgerald review book, as well as boardvitals. Boardvitals has been very difficult. I wish there were more posts on boardvitals scores and predictability in regards to the ancc. I recently did some questions on FNP mastery as well. I take the test next week and I am having some anxiety :(

Congratulations!

I recently passed my ANCC. This post is both to congratulate you and to give others out there my percentages on educational tools.

I was initially crushed by Boardvitals, averaging 45-60 percent with my first tests.

I used Leik to brush up on my deficiencies. Used highlight/star function on boardvitals to make card sets of wrong answers.

Boardvitals started inching up to 70%.

Did Leik phone app questions, which after Boardvitals were relatively easy.

Boardvitals helped but much harder then ANCC. Leik were very similar to ANCC questions.

I did not use Fitzgerald because I had used the review questions to study within my FNP program and other classmates related that the online questions for the review were almost the same, with possibly 100 different questions.

Thank to everyone who posted and directed me to use the above resources.

Hey prnbullets,

Congrats! I am taking mine next month. Did you take your exam with or without the new changes that occurred on Dec. 16th? Looks like they are getting rid of many policy questions.

Thanks!

Sorry for late reply, but yes I took the new format
