ANCC experience

I used this site so often for advice while studying for the ANCC. I took it Oct 20, 2015 and passed. I studied a ridiculous amount and was way over prepared. The test is difficult to study for. Way more research questions than actual medical questions. Study ethics, cultural consideration, professional roles, BON, government and non government role in NP, licensure, certification. Medical was common everyday things nothing out of the ordinary, lots of derm!

I mi used tons of resources...my suggestions use Leik's book as your BIBLE, and fnp prep online for questions not pertaining to medical but legal and non clinical. Hope that helps and good luck. Remember it's just a test!

Yeah the exams are ridiculous. What you say is true. There's nothing clinical about the tests. I'd I had to retake it now I'd probably fail because I can't speak intelligently about any nurse theories and management labels. This is true for psychiatry at least.

Board certified physicians and PAs typically retest periodically. I'm glad we don't because we wouldn't stand a fighting chance. A clinician can't keep abreast of medicine in addition all the mediocre fluff that's actuly covered on the test. Pass it and move on with life.
