Anatomy & Physiology

Why do some colleges teach Anatomy & Physiology in more detail than others? I am currently taking Anatomy & Physiology in college as a pre-requisite for Nursing school and we studied all the bones, but not all the markings. My brother who went to a different college saw what I was studying and he told me that he studied way more markings on the bones than what I was given. The same thing happened when I got to the muscular system. My brother is telling me that he studied twice as many muscles as I was required to. Is there a reason for this?

I think it is due to the expertise of the professor. I took it from a professor in a dental college and I don't' think we went below the neck except for fluid and electrolytes and the skeletal system as a whole. I guess he wanted his patients to be able to walk in on their own.
