I don't know what to do once I go back to looking for an opening when Mattthew's summer break is over with. I have found that I have arthuritis of the spine. It's from the car wrecks I had back in 1995 when I had up to 12 vertibrea outta place. I still have had problems with my back since then, even though I was under a chiropractor at that time b4 and after the accidents. Now since I have been a CNA, my problems have worsend from all that pulling patients over to their side when giving a bed bath (even with help) and from doing transfers from bed to chair and vise versa (even with help). Am I going to be able to go back to work as a CNA or will I have to look for another job completely out of the nursing field and to a job where I can sit where I won't have to be on my feet so much so that my back won't b abused so much HELP!:uhoh21:

Sorry to hear about you back problems. I hope you find something in nursing that you can still do with the arthritis. Have you considered more sedentary jobs (telephone triage/advice nurse, medical billing, etc) or maybe working with smaller, lighter patients such as in a newborn nursery or NICU? You might need more training and education (LPN, RN education), but if you want to stay in nursing it may be worth it.

Good luck!

Telephone/Triag Nurse/Nurse Advise sounds good but, wiygh me being a CNA will I need more schooling or can a CNA even be concidered for employement for such a position?

I don't know the training required for triage and telephone advice nurses, but it sounds like its worth looking into.

Good luck,

Adonai
