Always trying to excel

Hey guys! So I'm a TMT (Tele monitor tech) and I've gotten into the swing of things with reading and monitoring so my question for you guys is: what are something's that really impress you about your techs? What are some things they do that you like or wish they would change?

I feel like its hard to build rapport and support with the nursing staff when we are always just calling about problems etc... So really just looking for ways to improve my performance and work more closely with the nurses! Thanks!

Simple: actually paying attention to the monitors. I know it sounds like common sense but I have worked with monitor techs who do not notice that a patient is off the monitor or that their O2 sat is low or pulse ox is off...they just simply silence the alarms. I also like to communicate when I like to be called...for example, one night I had a patient on a cardizem gtt and the MD wanted me to call him for further orders if the SBP was

I agree to the previous comment. Pay attention and keep us informed. My pet peeve is also when the pulse ox is alarming repeatedly and the TT silences it and doesn't notify me. By the time it's finally bugged them enough to call me it could be to late where I could have increased O2, gotten a respiratory therapist involved, etc prior to a real problem. And when a pt goes off tele, you call the tech to replace leads, and the tech doesn't do it quickly call the RN to notify them. Some of my critical patients have been off tele WAY too long! Dangerous!
