Alternate List

I applied to an ADN for the spring 2018 and their classes started on Jan. 16. I am currently still on the alternate list, specifically #1 and I'm scared that I might actually not get in. Even though I'm number #1, I'm thinking that everyone is certain of their choice of the school. I have been on the list for a month and even called 2 weeks ago on any updates but I'm still #1. At this moment, I will be applying for Fall 2018 for other colleges. Has anyone been in a similar situation to mine?

Hey MamaCatNeighbor! I haven't been in your situation myself, but my friend was in the same situation when he applied to start last fall. Fortunately, he was able to get in. However, it was literally at the last possible moment almost. He had been doing everything as if he had been accepted just in case (vaccinations, studying, etc.) so he was not scrambling around.

It is definitely a tough situation to be in especially if everyone seems set. Are you able to attend the classes until the Add/Drop date for the program? If you are, sometimes someone may decide that the class is too much or have something else pop up. Stay current if you are able to just in case. Best wishes either for getting in now or for a program in the fall.

No. The school just said that if someone drops, they'll give me a call.
