Allina nurses

Published

After trying to reach the recruiting department to no avail, I thought I'd ask here. If you work or have worked for Allina in MN, is it a decent place to work? What hospital/unit would you recommend to an ICU nurse willing to work ICU, MS, tele, PACU part time? Looking at the job postings, some are union positions, some aren't. Do union positions include health insurance? How many hours do I have to work to receive health ins? How long from start date does it kick in?

If you're not to impressed with Allina could you recommend another place? I am relocating to the area and I'm kicking around working travel vs. per diem vs. permanent. I'm so lost. Any input on this matter would be greatlt appreciated. Thanks! Please PM me if you don't want to respond publicly.

Specializes in LTC.

Not a nurse yet, so I don't know the prespectives of Allina from the nurses view point, only the CNAs. I've talked to a couple of CNAs who worked at United and both had both good and bad things to say about the hospital.

Otherwise for twincities hospitals there are a lot to choose from.

I'm sure there maybe a couple I missed in the Minneapolis/St. Paul suberbs, but this gives you an idea of what's in St. Paul/Minneapolis at least.

Specializes in LTC, med/surg, oncology, cardiac.

Badgernurse,

Just curious where you ended up? You posted your question back summer 2007, so thought may be you moved by now. I got a call the other day if I am still interested in a position through Allina (have not interviewed as of yet). If your with Allina how do you like it, benefits, etc. Thanks!
