I am a CNA. I was recently accused of neglecting a resident in his right mind. He refused to lay down between meals and then reported me for not laying him down. I can't make him, but his daughter knows a lot of important people and is trying to get my certification. I am due to graduate nursing school in less than a year and I don't know how this will affect my career. I don't even know if the school will kick me out. I want to be a registered nurse and I love my field, but I feel like I'm so alone and that no one can help me. I've already been interviewed by a state surveyor and she did not seem to believe a word I said. I feel like it's a foregone conclusion and I should just give up now. I am 100% sure that I did nothing wrong and I can't make a resident lay down if he refuses. Where do I go from here? How do I fight this?
