Those of you who are travelers and have used Airbnb, are you expected/required to pay in full up front or monthly or are most willing to work out other payment options?

Register for a night or two and then negotiate directly with the owner. If you want the best price, it is best to have something to negotiate with, like a month's rent or even three. If you want to pay at the end of the month, that is a huge negative. If I was the owner/host, I would tell you to get lost. Or continue to pay through AirBnB via credit card.

Why the AirBnB interest at all? It is not set up for long term, and is competing with hotel prices. Look first in Craigslist in shared housing, also post your own housing wanted ad. Far cheaper. Get a credit card advance for the first month and by then your pay should catch up.

Thanks. I'll definitely check out those options.
