If I am repeating a thread please guide me to the right area.

I am ADN nurse that will be graduating in Dec with my BSN. I was wondering if anyone could give me the process of joining as well as how long each process took. I currently have been in contact with an old nursing instructor to receive info in this area. I was told the application alone took almost a year. Is this true, what is everyone's experience with this part? Any and all information would be helpful. My number has been given to a recruiter I am waiting on a call. Thanks everyone.

If you want to join the Air Guard find a unit near where you live (hopefully there is one not too far away). Find out what medical units they have. Call the unit directly and ask if you can talk with a nurse about their job and if they have any openings. Don't expect to hear from the recruiter. It took 14 months from the time I applied to when I was commissioned. You can message me if you like.

Thank you. I am not sure I no how to message on this website. How long have you been in? There is an air guard base located in my town (woohoo) and I am supposed to be meeting with a NP on Sat whos a member, but I have yet to hear from her.

Hi KimPayne89, I received an email stating you had sent me a message but all allnurses will not let me open it. So I cannot see your question. Figured I would come on here to let you know I was not ignoring you. I am not sure why I cannot open the private message but seems to do with me not having much activity on here or something of that nature. Let me know if you still have a question ;)
