Advice

Hi,

I am an FNP student. I have about a year left in school. My background is in pediatrics (ICU and Renal Dialysis). I was wanting to get some adult nursing experience since I am doing the FNP route. I am searching for a PRN nursing role. Right now I have two different roles interested and I am not sure what position would look best when I graduate. One job is for Same Day Surgery/PACU and the other is for Apheresis. Looking for advice on which position might be more beneficial to my long term goals.

Thanks!

What do you want to do with your FNP? Primary care or acute care? If you want adult care experience, you can do inpatient med-surg or an LTC/SNF. The latter will for sure all be adults.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter what sort of RN experience you have for your FNP program, unless you specialise in acute cute.
