Advice

I have been working at this hospital for Acute care center for a couple of months. It is totally stressing me out. I can't sleep, I am waking up with my teeth clenched shut in the morning to the point where my jaw hurts. I got another job and gave a two week notice. But this place is making me sick, stressed out to the max. I made a med error, and I am so ****** cause I am rushing around like a nut trying to get **** done. Mang know how this wing is but, the stay in there offices and do not lend a hand. I am only an 8 hr **** but I am there for 12 hrs a day. I can not stay there another week. I quit! I have never done anything like that before but, I can't take it. The don called my cell phone left me a nasty voice mail, and when I called her back continued to degrade me and threaten to blackball me on any future jobs. Today she actually cranked called my cell phone! She is supposed to be a professional. I know what I did people aren't a fan but, I tried to make the two weeks but I just couldn't do it. At the end of the day who is looking out for my health.

If the DON left a nasty message on your phone then that just shows the overall attitude of the organization, which is not professional. And no one looks out for your health except you. Learn that now. It's a fine balance between giving what you can of yourself to your profession and keeping yourself sane and healthy.

Good luck on your next endeavor. Some places are just horrible to work. Trust me: been there, done that.

If someone leaves you a "nasty" voicemail,

why do you call them back? - block the number

I did block it, the very next day, when she cranked my cell

good for you and good to be out of there
