ADVICE PLEASE :)

Last semester I took Biology to get a taste of science....... well turns out I hated it. I am an A student, but received a C in Bio and felt proud of that C! Hardest class ever! Granted the teacher was not the best, but I still had a very hard time focusing.Anyway, to say the least it terrified me and I lost my drive to do nursing mainly because I was scared of the nursing pre-reqs. So my question is: are there any nurses who hated and dreaded every moment of their pre-reqs but once you got into the nursing program you loved it? I think right now I could just use some encouragement. I have most of my GE's finished, but I still have those science classes that need to be finished :)

I did not hate my sciences per se... but, I did appreciate the way they taught me how to learn. It is IMPERATIVE in nursing school that you do not just memorize bits of information. You have to fully understand the who, what, when, where and whys of every topic. You have to be able to see the big picture, and I learned to do that in my science pre-reqs. I believe that how successful you are in the your sciences will be a good indicator of you are going to do in Nursing school. My biology was the second hardest pre-req class I took (physiology the first), and they still are easier than all of my nursing classes.

Good luck!

Thank you so much!!!! I am going to take anatomy and see how that goes :) I feel like I need to give it another shot. Also you are right, I feel after taking Bio I realized how I should be studying. Taking a science class is much different than humanities or english classes. I think it caught me off guard!
