advice please

I'm making a career change and switching from tech world to CRNA. I picked the most alternative route. I'm going to do the MSN in nursing at Depaul University for 2 years and after 1 year of CIU, I'll apply for post-graduate Anesthesia program? Is there anybody took this route? Please advise? I'm planning to apply to Bradley or Depaul's Anethesia program. Are there any advantages/disadvantages going through this route?

Thanks in advance. Any advice will be welcomed.

Let me clarify a couple of points:

1. CRNA is a title (credential) that is earned by passing the National Certification Examination for Nurse Anesthetists.

2. In order to take the exam a person must:

a. Complete an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education(including specified case experiences.

b. Have a valid RN license.

c. Have evidence of current ACLS and PALS certification

d. Pay the certification exam fee (which includes the first of membership dues)

3. As part of completing an accredited program that includes earning a Masters (or higher) degree or if a student already has an appropriate Masters degree (and the University prohibits granted a second "same" degree) they may be granted a Post-Masters Certificate.

4. A Post- Masters certificate is not a university degree!

5. A program must apply for approval from the Council on Accreditation for the ability to grant a Post-Master Certificate option. Usually these are listed on the accreditted site listing but the information is taken from the program's annual report and therefore may not reflect the current status.
