Advice please re: interview etiquette

Hi everyone, I have a problem and hoping someone can help me.

There is a LPN position that I am VERY interested in. I have already interviewed with the HR dept. for this organization so all I would need is an interview with the manager for this particular position. I applied online and emailed HR specifically about this position. AND a friend that works for this organization said that my name came up for the job.

The problem is, I haven't been called for an interview yet and another classmate (who also applied) was called for an interview yesterday.(with the manager) What should I do? I've thought about calling HR in person or calling the manager in person. Would that be too pushy? I just don't understand why my name would be mentioned but I wouldn't get an interview:banghead:

It seems that my classmates are getting a lot more interviews that I am and we are applying for the same jobs. I'm going to revamp my resume, but most places already have it. Please HELP!!!! I'm getting so frustrated:crying2:
