So, I have failed boards 3 times and I have taken kaplan 2 of those times. I guess ive just lost all hope and my husband isnt very understanding. Im now taking Hurst because im thinking I need to study more content. But I really dont have a study plan while im doing hurst....for those of you that have taken hurst how do you study? Ive been watching the videos and taking notes. Did you review previous topics before you moved on? Do questions? Im really at a loss at this point and I just need someones help that understands!

When I did hurst I did a couple of videos a day and then did NCLEX questions. Make sur you read the rationale whether it's right or wrong. Look at Greg Linares videos. I did it before my exit and I passed first time. I am waiting for my NCLEX PN results so I can do the quick results to see if official. It shut off at 85, minimum for PN. I did the Pearson trick and it wouldn't let me register for another test. I think the Hurst helped me, good med surg review and Greg Linares videoed too. You got this!! Deep breath.

I watched the 24 hours worth of videos in about 4-5 days. I used the fill in the blank lecture notes provided and wrote the answers down as the instructor said them out loud. Hurst clearly states to watch all the videos, study it all in its entirety, and THEN do the q reviews. I did just that and still don't feel like Hurst was worth my $270. Not one answer I chose on my NCLEX was because of my Hurst review. If you have issues with the core content though, it's a great review to better your understanding of WHY and HOW questions. Marlene on Hurst also clearly states how to study and how to pass as well as testing strategies. Hurst's standard of studying is to study until you can teach it without the curriculum in front of you.

Hi Hbanga,
Is it possible that your husband or someone could hold your Hurst book & quiz you on the content (even if it just reading the content & asking you to fill in the blanks), because this will really impress the material deep inside of you. not sure if you have the time to that, but it does help. I had a classmate of mine who failed nclex, like I did, and we both took the live Hurst review class & spent a 1 month quizzing each other on all the on content in the book(including the mgmt & delegation/OB/Peds, before taking the exam again. that study session with my buddy made me so confident that it helped relieve my anxiety. also, during my exam, I read each question twice & sometimes on the SATA, I selected my options & meditated & made sure those options were applicable to the question & made sense, without any doubting.
Don't just do Hurst you have to do NCLEX questions too, but I think Hurst helped me especially on past content. Go in with a positive attitude, that helps big time.
