Hi,I'm just an entry level recruiter in the field. I m in Minneapolis,MN. I've a Nurse Case Manager position need to fill (you can find it here: http://jobirn.com/Nurse-Case-Manager-95657-Jobs.php). Since I've less connection in the industry, I don't know how to do it. Calling & Calling but only very little responded. I won't lost my job. Any suggestion on how to build network in the industry? Is linkedin good enough? Thanks. -J

Hi there. I am assuming you are not a nurse???

From my expererience, nurses aren't really 'into' LinkedIn unless they are in management positions. If you are targeting clinical specialties, I would suggest working with each specialty's web site.

Also, give NursingLink http://www.nursinglink.com/ a try. It is becoming more popular. Another great option is NurseWeek - the Gannett publication - may be a bit pricy, but it is divided into regions and has nationwide circulation, both hard copy & on line. They sponsor career fairs throughout the country.

Lastly, I would recopmmend establishing connections with nursing schools - especially those with graduate programs. Most RN nursing students are very open to career/job switches- that's why they are going back to school in the first place. Schools are very good about posting jobs in student lounges or in their newsletters.

Good luck
