Adelphi nursing program

Hi everyone,

I am looking for any reviews people have on the BSN program at Adelphi, either the PATH program or the regular BSN. I'm strongly considering this school because its close to home. Do you feel like the program has prepared you well for a career in nursing? Also was the workload manageable?

Thank you!

@Nurse J823 Do you mind sharing your GPA and TEAS scores from when you were admitted into the program? I am trying to figure out my chances of being accepted! Thanks for posting about the program!

I applied for the fall 2016 program. My gpa 3.4 and i did okay on the teas. Im still looking foward to hearing back from them since it's been 6 weeks already.

Hey I just graduated in December 2015 from Adelphi. I LOVE them!!!

Background: I have a previous baccalaureate degree. I did not do the accelerated program, I did the regular bsn program as a "transfer" student.

Program: they are big on ATI, so the TEAS exam is only the beginning. The professors I had were AMAZING!! Of course there was that one or two that wasn't as good as the rest, but overall good professors. After each nursing course, theres a proctored computerized ati exam (fundamentals, pharm, psych, etc). Honestly I hated ATI until my last semester, it was just so unpredictable. The workload is definitely manageable and nursing students ahead of you are always willing to help with tips. I graduated magna cum Laude.

At the end you are given this ATI comprehensive exam that's supposed to be an NCLEX predictor (chances of passing nclex if you sat for it that day), I got a 91%. So basically if that day I took the nclex, I had a 91 percent chance of passing. Then when you graduate there's a mandatory 3 day ATI comprehensive review for the NCLEX. I used the skills I learned from the review and purchased the Kaplan Qbank (NOT THE ENTIRE COURSE, just the question bank) to study for the boards.

passed the boards in Feb, first try, with 87 questions.

As for feeling prepared in my career, I'll keep y'all posted, I start in May.

Anymore questions, ask or pm me.

Hi iNurse, I was just wondering how long it took you to complete the BSN as a transfer student? And did you have all of the pre-reqs completed before you started the program? Thanks!

I had a 3.7 at the time and I'm not sure what the exact score I got on the TEAs was but it wasn't high, I just barely passed and I don't think I even finished the math section tbh lol. Adelphi will accept you if your GPA is high enough and if you pass the TEAs. Good luck!

@Nurse J823 Thanks for your feedback!

hey guys i just found out i got accepted for Fall 2016. Goodluck guys

I have been accepted too! Just registered to take my remaining semester of prereqs in Fall 2016. I'm still waiting to hear about financial aid, which is nerve racking. How long did it take others to find out about their financial aid packages?

Thats the same thing I'm waiting for.

I found out that I got an Adelphi Transfer Scholarship, but I haven't heard about any other financial aid. I was told to check back at the end of May.

Just recieved my transfer scholarship yesterday, so im just waiting for the financial aid also.
