ACLS Certification computer based?

I'm not sure of the program, but did my recert from a computer program once. This was in Louisiana. I found the computer program to be much harder than the mega code. With the computer, everything had to be perfect. We did not have to be checked off by an instructer afterwards. That's all I know.

I would prefer to do it in person, which I have always done but my card runs out this month and there are no programs open until May. I was in China for the past year and a half so this is the reason for getting so close to my card expiring. I looked at the program and it does appear to be harder than the courses I have taken and I notice some of ACLS has changed but I got all the updates from a friend who is an ACLS instructor. Now to review. :^)

Well, I have taken my BLS the last two times from them. They were fine. But, I personally have not taken any online versions. My friends have taken the online ACLS and liked it.

I thought the whole ideas was to give hands on experience so that when you need to shock you will have already hands on experience to count on. I don't see how computerized codes will help anyone..least of all the patient. I could stay at a HOLIDAY INN and be just as experienced as a computorized course.

This is like saying if I watch someone exercise on tv I am going to lose weight. It is not the cognitive being taught it is the physical.

You have a good point. I think that for the first time person or someone who doesn't attend codes it would not be the best idea. I have attended many codes and am normally the one doing the pumping on the chest so I feel ok with this but hands on is still best in my opinion. Watching exercise on TV might be ok if you already exersice yourself and are in good condition.
