Accelerated BSN

Published

I am a lawyer with interest in Accelerated BSN program. I have completed all perquisite and currently school hunting. I dont want to postpone going back to school so I need to get in school this year. I have found couple of schools but i have missed the deadlines because I didn't know about this program until now.

I found a school in Florida ECPI university and I need review from this forum. Is it a good school and accredited? Will I get a job after graduation from the school? I am still within time to apply but I am skeptical about it.

Any suggestions on schools to apply to will be greatly appreciated.

Is Florida a requirement?

I'm a lawyer making the switch to nursing too! What made you decide nursing school was for you?

I wouldn't do the ECPI route if I were you b/c it's a for profit school, right? I don't think the credits would transfer if you wanted to go beyond RN. Is it in the cards to wait until the next application cycle for better schools? Many have a fall and spring start date.

Food for thought-- I went to a crappy law school, passed the bar, and never had a legal job b/c the market was so competitive that employers always chose the person with the fancier degree (despite same qualifications). Not saying that it's right or that you couldn't get a good education at ECPI but it just doesn't hold the same weight as say The University of Florida. I know the legal profession is snobbier but it can't be all that different when you're a new grad and trying to compete for entry level jobs.

I have been doing a lot of research and have considered relocating to Alabama to complete the AMSN program... I will begin taking Pre Req Fall 2017
