Hello! First off I would like to introduce myself, my name is Shawn and I'm from Florida, and currently studying to become a nurse eventually study for RN then a CRNA or PA... I am about to put in my application this week to start my classes and I am a bit concerned about what it is to be a nurse, I hear some people like it for a good paycheck other like it because they love making people smile (I am in this category) and other I hear it was the biggest mistakes of their lives... why is that? To be honest I am a bit scared especially being a future male nurse I work at a doctor's office and the Nurse is the office manager and also the Infusion nurse and even though I do respect her to the fullest extent I feel like shes always so angry, sure she is nice sometimes and caring and understanding but 99% of the time she seems to be on edge or plain out angry? Is this due to her being in nursing because the doctor which shes married too is super nice 99% of the time. And reading around the internet makes me believe that nursing changes you in a way? (Or just happen to find a thread about hating nursing) I guess my question is, does being a male nurse affect my career and why would people hate nursing even after studying nursing?
