abnormal period question

Published

I have a condition in which when I'm menstruating, I vomit, lose control of my bowels, get cold sweats, lose consciousness, have uncontrollable shakes, high fever, extreme pelvic pain and my blood pressure and heart rate drop to really low levels. This only happens maybe 3 or 4 times a year but every time it puts me in the hospital. Simply put, I feel like my body is shutting down. Alcohol can trigger this condition, but it has happened when alcohol was not involved. I am not on bc because I prefer to be treated, not have my symptoms masked by birth control(plus breast cancer runs in my family). I've been to 3 different OBGYN's and none of them can seem to figure this out. The only solution I've been offered is to get on birth control which is VERY frustrating. And 2 of them have told me these are "normal" symptoms for a period...what??? I've also had a sonogram that shows my uterus and ovaries as being normal, and my papsmears are normal as well. I've spent so much time and money because of this issue. Are there any suggestions? Please help!
