Is it possible to get a regular AA degree just for general education, then transfer to a university and get a BSN?

Yes, of course. A friend of mine did just that, taking the nursing school prerequisites along with the other courses required for a degree. She got the degree and even went to graduation and graduated with honors. She said that made up for not going to high school.
