God, what a tricky ? I would have to say anyone, because as a mother I dispense medicine everyday to my child. B) Not only nurses dispense. C) Not all medical prof. can dispense med. So "A" is the only one to make sense. When parents get script at pharmacy, are they not the ones dispensing Meds?? What is the answer?
Thank you ' waitingforthedream'. Sorry I am not really sure the answer.
I guess you are right.
Was this an question on a test?? You have to watch those critical thinking questions. Try to get rid of the ones that are not right first. Think about every answer and is it correct. Even though you would not think of answering "anyone", the other two are not correct. But I could be wrong, anyone else have input??

if we let a. anybody administer a medication there would be medication errors. i think it is important to look at the language used in the question. "administer" means to give out, as in a service, to another.
b. only nurses who have knowledge and competency. while all nurses by virtue of their license are technically allowed to administer medications, most facilities do not just allow their licensed nurses to give medications until they have established that each nurse has knowledge and competency about drugs. so, from the perspective of administering medications a facility is going to make sure that the nurses who are giving medications know what they are doing.
c. all medical professionals that doesn't necessarily mean that they have the legal authority to give medication in the course of their professional work. ex: physical therapists, cnas, medical coders, dieticians.
