A question about CE's

I got my LPN license in 08/09. I have to renew this year being it is an even number year and thats when LPNs renew in Ohio. I have recieved several CE books in the mail and one is a great deal offering 24 (the required amount) of CE's for 20 $. The catch is that I am not required to do CE for this renewal year but will for 2012 when I renew again. Am I aloud to use the books I got for this year towards the next renewal? Or should I just wait and use the books I get in 2012? It probably makes more sense to wait for new books but I was just wondering what everyone else though. Thanks so much!

You should wait until you get ready to take your CE courses. Test materials sometimes change from year to year, and what you get now may not prepare you for a course offered next year.

Thanks so much!

Check with your BON - there may be certain dates that you need to be aware of. If the CEUs are due in 2012, they may only accept those that are taken/earned in 2011 and 2012.

Also, your facility may offer some programs for free. I went to a nursing Job Fair this week, and it was possible to get 4 hours for free.

Best wishes!
